Nebraskan Bison

Bison are a

part of the our

landscape, in the past and future.

Fort Niobrara has bison on site.

The herd must be moved from one

paddock to the other; it's done

on horseback.

Amazing story: on location on the morning river. while in our canoe,we heard a beast at gallop from the west. we were approaching a bridge, and that was the running beast's aim. we were close to the bridge by now; it had walls and we could not see, but we heard the hooves hard and fast crossing. By then we knew what it was, and heard the jeeps it was was fleeing. the sound of the beastie's hooves across the bridge, something never to be forgotten.
